Born in Florence, Italy; died 1163.
Born into the Alberti family, she is sometimes wrongly named de'Bardi. Bertha entered religious life at the Vallombrosan convent of Saint Felicitas in Florence from where, Blessed Qualdo Galli, the Vallombrosan general, sent her to Cavriglia as abbess. Bertha reformed and governed the convent of Santa Maria de Cavriglia in Fiesole near Florence for ten years until her death on Easter Sunday
