SAINT ACHILLAS

St. Achillas

Feast day: January 17
Died: 4th Century

Hermit in Egypt with Amoes. They lived and prayed in a secluded desert region of Egypt for decades. For this reason they are called "the Flowers of the Desert" by the Greek Church. Achillas and Amoes are especially venerated at the beginning of Lent.
